System requirements

OS: Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit), macOS 11+ on Apple Silicon or 10.12+ on Intel, Linux (x86_64), or Android 7+ (arm64)
Graphics: runs on the Compatibility (OpenGL / ANGLE) renderer, so old and integrated GPUs are fine
Disk: a few hundred MB for the self-contained build
Network: optional. Online unlocks the shared world. Offline Mode needs no connection at all
Discord features: Rich Presence needs the Windows build. Cloud restore, one-time cross-save codes, and Discord bot linking work on every platform

Opening it the first time. Windows: unzip all the files into one folder, run AwayWard.exe, then click "More info" and "Run anyway" on the SmartScreen prompt. Sharing it with a friend? Send the whole zip, because a lone exe opens to a blank window. macOS: the app is not notarized, so the first open is blocked. On macOS 15+ go to System Settings, Privacy & Security and click "Open Anyway"; on older macOS, right-click the app and choose Open. There is a HOW TO OPEN note in the zip saying the same. Linux: extract the .tar.gz and run ./AwayWard.x86_64. If your file manager dropped the execute bit, chmod +x AwayWard.x86_64. Android: allow installs from your browser once, open the APK, approve it. Google Play is planned, not live yet.

Free to play. The only purchase planned is an optional Supporter Pack of cosmetics and convenience. You cannot buy power, gold or gacha luck.
